Collectors Foundation

A portion of your Historic Vehicle Association membership fee is donated to the Collectors Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships and grants to individuals and organizations working to preserve the historic vehicle community and wooden boat hobby.

Since its founding in 2005, the Foundation has awarded over $1.5 million to educational institutions and other organizations that work effectively with young people through hands-on learning experiences with historic vehicles.

Thanks to the Collectors Foundation:

• At least 30 scholarships are awarded annually to students enrolled in post-secondary study of rod and custom building, restoration technology and transportation design.
• Each year over 60 at-risk students are being mentored by historic vehicle enthusiasts.
• Each school day 1,000 high school auto tech students are using specialty equipment purchased with grant funds.
• Annually, more than 50,000 school-age children visit some of the country’s best automotive museums, where they receive lessons in art, history and technology.
• Automotive libraries are preserving valuable literature and documentation.
