Is Your Client Restoring or Building a Classic?

We can help! Hagerty offers coverage for vehicles under active restoration, beginning at the earliest stages.

The process of restoring a collector vehicle is in some ways more a part of the hobby than driving them. Collector car owners will spend hundreds of hours researching, locating parts, buying and working on their cars. And typically, before they’re even done with one project they’re planning their next one. Every collector car has been or probably will be restored to some degree.

When your client is restoring a vehicle, the last thing they need to be concerned about is whether or not they have enough insurance coverage as work progresses. For that reason we’ve created an endorsement that features:

  • Quarterly Value Increases – The Guaranteed Value of the car will be raised automatically by 10 percent each quarter.
  • Coverage for Tools – Your client will receive $750 of coverage for their automotive tools.
  • Access to Convenience Towing – Coverage includes a dedicated toll-free number for access to a collector-car-certified dispatch center. All details are managed by professionals experienced in transporting collector vehicles; all your client handles is the payment.
  • Low cost – For $20 per vehicle, this coverage is a low-cost addition to your client’s existing collector car policy.

Quick Tip: Always ask the client what other collector vehicles they own….you may just open up a barn full of restored farm tractors.  And that goes for active restorations also.  Many people assume they cannot get coverage until the vehicle is completely restored when in fact Hagerty can cover it throughout the process.
