Modal Overlay

Once the ad is clicked on by a user, a modal overlay or “pop up” is launched without the user leaving that page. The overlay has maximum dimensions of 800x600 but will adjust to fit smaller viewports. This is device responsive and mobile friendly, but it is smaller than full screen.

Why Modal Overlay?

The advantage is that the user doesn’t leave the page and can simply hit the “x” in the right hand corner to close the overlay and return to the previous page of the site. It’s native to the website, and feels like it is a feature that is part of that website.

New Window

Once the ad is clicked on by a user, a new window is opened and the application is displayed on a separate full screen landing page. This is device responsive and mobile friendly, it will conform to fit the screen size of any device it is viewed on. There are no maximum dimensions.

Why New Window?

The advantage is that it is displayed on a full screen and will appear larger to the user but takes a user away from the page they are on. It opens a new window and drives the user to a different page, so it feels like a regular banner ad to the user.
