  • What is the Hagerty fee?

    In addition to your premium, a forty dollar fee is charged to you by Hagerty for arranging your specialty insurance coverage, which may include the following: acting as a resource for vehicle valuation; supporting immediate policy issuance, web-based quoting and policy issuance and online policy management; and underwriting your policy on behalf of the company.

  • What kind of vehicles qualify for coverage?

    We offer insurance for a wide variety of collector vehicles. Please see our Does My Vehicle Qualify? section for details

  • Do I need to submit a Provincial Application with the Hagerty Questionnaire?

    Not yet. Hagerty will send a provincial application, when required, in your new policy packet. You will need to complete, sign and return the form to us in the envelope provided.

  • Where are the Hagerty Plus enrollment cost and the Hagerty fee listed on the insurance certificate?

    The two costs are not insurance premiums and therefore not listed on the insurance certificate. The policy premium and both fees are listed as separate line items on the client statement. This statement is mailed to clients in the policy packet when you are enrolled in Hagerty Plus.

    If you did not enroll in Hagerty Plus, you can access a statement online at www.hagerty.ca under "Policy Management," and View Payment History.

    When quoting online the price includes the total of the insurance premium, Hagerty Plus enrollment cost, and the Hagerty fee. It does not separate them out as individual line items.

    The Hagerty fee is also disclosed in the Hagerty questionnaire and in the Compensation Disclosure issued with new policies.

  • What are your usage restrictions/guidelines?

    Simply put, we want you to enjoy your classic vehicle. You’re covered for pleasure use, whether it's a drive on a gorgeous summer day, a trip to the ice cream shop, attending club events or going to shows. While only the policy describes the coverage provided, if you have specific questions about usage, we're happy to discuss them with you.

  • Can I race my car?

    No. Our program is not designed to provide coverage for vehicles while they’re being raced. Each provincial policy contains exclusions for racing.

  • What are Hagerty's garage requirements?

    Program guidelines require all collector vehicles be stored in an enclosed and secure garage. We will consider a variety of storage locations, including home garages and rented storage units. Any questions regarding storage can be directed to a licensed representative.

  • Does Hagerty offer seasonal coverage?

    No. At Hagerty, we offer an annual policy.

  • How many photos are required for each vehicle?

    We need one good photo for stock (original) vehicles, showing a full side view of the car. We need four photos for custom or modified vehicles (full vehicle, engine, interior and trunk). Two photos are required for classic pickups (full vehicle and truck bed).

  • How many years of driving experience are required?

    Our program guidelines require that our clients have at least ten years of driving experience.
