Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Wire wheels, blackwall tires, triple carbs. The first Bristol engined AC Ace, originally delivered to the U.S. Restored in the UK in the early 90s including conversion to righthand drive. Matching numbers cylinder head, engine modified during restoration. Essentially unused in recent years and in sound, highly presentable but lightly aged condition.

Market commentary

Lightly aged is not the same at patinaed, suggesting years in a barn rather than miles on the road. This result recognizes the modifications, the uncertain early history in the U.S. and the years in storage. The buyer did well to acquire the first Ace Bristol for this price, even if its configuration is different from the way it was first delivered.
